Tracey Nolan Courts in WWII
A military man from the family who didn’t come home was Tracey Nolan Courts.
I can’t find a draft card or enlistment record for him but we do know a little about his service in the Pacific Theater.
Tracey served as a Seaman Second Class aboard the USS Boise.
During the Battle of Cape Esperance on the night of October 11-12, 1942, the USS Boise was part of a group that encountered a Japanese force of cruisers and destroyers. They received fire from a Japanese heavy cruiser which killed 107 crew members.
This included Tracey Nolan Courts. He had just turned 18 a month before.
I don’t know anything other than that so if anyone has anything else to share, you can send it my way!
