Warner Family Brands – Wyoming
This post is a gathering of information about the Warner family brands in Wyoming.
There is some great public domain information about cattle brands. One of them is The Official Brand Book of the State of Wyoming published in 1913 available for free online. It contains Wyoming brands registered up until October 11, 1912. The brand record also included the placement of the brand for cattle, horses, or sheep. I’ve explained those with the brand.
Before 1909 cattle brands were registered with the county instead of the state.
Mark had 2 brands registered in 1912. A lazy heart and a flying bird silhouette.
L.S.H – placed on Left Shoulder on Horses
L.R.C. – placed on Left Ribs on Cattle
According to the family, this silhouette brand was dropped at some point (see the comment on this post)
Berch had the butterfly brand registered in 1912. He actually had 2 variations on it.
L.H.H. – placed on the Left Hip for Horses
This supposedly came with a ranch when he bought it but I’ll have to get more information about that. (see the comment on this post)
Laird had the square top 3 brand registered in 1912.
L.S.H. – placed on the Left Shoulder of Horses
I’ll be adding more as I get some from other family sources. If you have anything to share, please let us know!
